RPL
What is RPL?
RPL means Recognition of Prior Learning. You undertake this process to get your experience recognised, which matches the content of some units of competency. You would then be deemed competent in those units without having to study.
Who can apply for RPL?
Each person will have different work experience and previous qualifications. This is why we check each case with the best care and attention to provide you with the best advice for your circumstances. The first step is to use our Free assessment tool to check if you would be eligible. Please get in touch with us if you require additional assistance, and we will respond with a tailored plan.
Why get RPL?
RPL is a great way to get qualifications while saving you time, money and hassle. You can avoid doing units that cover things you already know, and you can get your skills and work experience recognised. You can get qualifications by providing proof of your skills and knowledge, which could enable you to take on further studies and upskill.
What type of documents do I need to provide for RPL?
Most documents that will be considered have to be official documents. You could also provide your resume, but you will need some extra documents to prove what you have said can be verified. As proof of your work experience, you can submit letters of reference from your previous employer, supervisor or colleagues and photos, videos, and documents showing your work.
You can also submit transcripts and certificates for qualifications you have obtained that are relevant to the RPL process.
Can I still get RPL if I don't have a lot of evidence?
If you don’t have much evidence, you can always gather some after you have decided to do RPL. You can also RPL some units of the qualifications and do gap training for the other units if you can’t get RPL for them.
